When It Rains It Pours. September 6, 2008

Literally.

Ever since Gustav hit, we’ve been receiving the rain and wind that has made it into Oklahoma.  It’s nothing like a hurricane, but it’s made it pretty nasty around here.  Enough to put me in a perma-funk lately.

I’m late for my period.  We’ve been trying for a baby for awhile now, so I was hoping for pregnancy.  Six pregnancy tests spread out over time reveal no baby, but also no period.  I’m tired of waiting.  And that adds to my mood.  I’m exceptionally moody lately, but this is not helping.

Our wedding anniversary was yesterday.  As we were pulling out of the driveway to take Squeaks to my parents’ so that we could go out, Squeaks’ puppy ran under the truck and got run over.  He died in my arms.  It has been really hard for me.  This pup really took to me and was like a second child.  We called him Titty Baby because he always had to be with me.  Squeaks doesn’t know he’s gone yet, and that’s going to be so hard to explain to an almost 3 year old.  I thought I was over it, but our other dog is in mourning and then I keep running across toys and treats of the pup’s and I feel sick.  We’ve had a really bad run with animals ever since we bought this house, so I’m thinking we’re done for awhile.

So I’m laying in bed, listening to the rain and feeling sorry for myself.  I’ll get over it.  I always do.  But I’m ready for a vacation already.

Oh Meg, I’m so sorry about the puppy. What a terrible thing to have happen, especially on your anniversary.

We’ve had a bit of rain here, too. Not as much as what you’re getting right now, but our lawn is looking greener than it ever has.

Keep your chin up. I’m thinking of you.

Oh my goodness, I’m sorry to hear about your puppy. I can’t even imagine how hard it must be for you. I hope things start to look up soon.
